A lot of people wonder why jewels are so important,
well simply if to you had a metal post going through a metal hole after a few years or so the hole would wear out and become a bit oval which will affect the watch, if you put a jewel in this hole with a bit of high grade oil and put a metal post into the hole it will keep it's shape forever!
Tid bit of info for you :-)
Ever wonder what a cap jewel is or an "Inca bloc" shock system is all about?"
A cap jewel you will find on both sides of the balance wheel staff (pivot) and this piece (cap jewel) is under a very small spring that closes down on the jewel but lets it float a little so if G-d forbid you drop your watch the balance staff that fits right underneath it will move up and down a fraction so it will not snap as the cap jewel is held in by the small inca bloc spring as mentioned just before. You have a small friction jewel just under the cap jewel and this small friction jewel has a hole in the center and this is where the balance staff goes into, to keep the balance straight and the cap jewel is flat on the balance staff side and rounded on top so the Inca bloc spring keeps a it snug in place but will let it move a fraction of a mm to give the staff protein from falls. Without an Inca bloc system on both plates of the balance if the watch is dropped there is no give and the balance will snap in half and you are looking at a major repair job.
ALL WILL BE SHIPPED WITH A TRACKING NUMBER SAFE AND SOUND WITH A 2 YEAR WARRANTY INCLUDED UNLESS DROPPED.
