P H GILBERT (LONDON ENGLAND) 18
KARAT GOLD MINT MUSEUM CONDITION CHAIN FUSEE AND ARTICULATELY SERVCIED
1811
STOCK NUMBER # GILBERT1------I offer for sale a
stunning victory for an ancient watchmaker P.H Gilbert who was located in London
England as the perfect and clear hallmarks indicate this fact. The case is not
worn and all hinges are in perfect order. Across this London hallmarked case is
48mm across and the height including the glass bulls eye crystal is 24mm. There
are no personal engravings on this case and the engine turn back is incredible
and crisp condition. Produced in 1811 and all these years later in such Museum
condition. The dial is perfect and I will repeat mint perfect . This is an 18
karat gold guilloche pattern dial and I am amazed all these years and it is
simply perfect! I did left the bezel with the glass bulls eye crystal so
you can get a true view of this marvellous 18 karat gold dial. The hallmarks on
the inside of the back of this case are all correct with little wear. They
read... case maker "I.G" and the "crown over 18" indicates and tested for 18
karat solid gold. The "Lion head" is a London assay hallmark and all are once
again correct. The letter "Q" indicates with the pattern it is in 1811 and
I can't say enough of the over all condition. The movement is signed "P.H
Gilbert, London". The serial number for this Gilbert pocket watch chain fusee is
651. Even the balance wheel is solid gold with a proper and poised hair spring
as I made sure of this fact. The balance cock end stone is a large diamond and
in perfect condition needless to say. I have inspected each and every link of
the chain and all are in correct lubricated order with no flaws. A few winds of
the key and the balance will move in a perfect swing. This is a back wind up and
a front set movement. To change the hands you simply open the bezel and exposed
the hands, then you will see a square notch at the end of the minute hand where
it attaches to the movement and when you put the key in this square and turn the
key the hands will move. The pocket watch chain is strong gold filled and the
coin is a Spanish genuine piece dating from the year 1756! The outer case is in
awesome condition with no tears on the silk cover.
If ever you were going to consider a Museum piece
....this is the one to acquire for a family heirloom or for a special occasion.

is 45mm and without the bow it is 53mm long and as well the knob at the top of
the case right below the bow is hallmarked and stamped 18 karat. The thickness
