The first Super Ocean appeared in 1957, marking Breitling's
entrance into the realm of diving. In 1995, the Colt Super Ocean was created, to
the Navy Seal's specifications, for its elite combat divers. At this time, it
acquired its modern shape (with rider tabs around the bezel and first was part
of the Professional line-up. Breitling later introduced the Aeromarine line-up,
where the Super Ocean now stands, along with all their other diver's watches.
WALTHAM
RARE RARE CASE AND DIAL WELL SERVICED 1899
STOCK NUMBER #WALT80------Yes I said 1899 movement indeed and keeps great
time as it is that well serviced (I pat myself on the back lol). This is a rare
engraved case and the back hinge is still working in perfect order which is rare
to find. This case is not standard issue and I have only had 5 in the last 18
years so judge for your self as I see 1000 and 1000's per year of wrist watches.
From fancy engraved lug to fancy engraved lug this Waltham is 40mm long and wide
not including the crown it is 34mm. The dial is ultra fancy with gold
telephone Arabic numbers and double signed "Waltham , A.W.C.Co" The hands are
Waltham slim railroad hands and correct. The case is signed "Empress "A.W.C.Co"
same as the dial so for sure you know it is factual! The serial number for this
case is 3,911,774 and there are no personal engravings on this hinged gold
filled back. This Waltham nickel movement is a size "0" size with 7 clean and
serviced jewels. The movement serial number is 8,901,505 and again this number
dates this American Waltham made wrist to the year 1899 and it really is a solid
piece and again well serviced. The band is 16mm in width and it is a genuine
Lizard band never worn not a bend. This is the piece of all pieces when it comes
to ultra early wrist watches and VERY art-deco and well cleaned.

this one is sold ;-)
A lot
of people wonder why jewels are so important,
well
simply if to you had a metal post going through a metal hole after a few years
or so the hole would wear out and become a bit oval which will affect the watch,
if you put a jewel in this hole with a bit of high grade oil and put a metal
post into the hole it will keep it's shape forever!
ZENITH
"EL PRIMERO " AND RECENTLY CLEANED AND SERVICED! RARE WATCH FOR SURE ,

automatic chronograph date watch produced. Case reference is A-178 the dial is a
"Bordeaux" 100% original never touch Zenith dial. Please notice the date is at
the 5 position. This case is with a sapphire crystal back and of coarse the sapphire crystal is flawless. This Zenith case is with a screw down water tight crown. The total

The new caliber 3019 "EL PRIMERO" was presented to the press by ZENITH, January
10, 1969 while the competitor project will wait until on March 3. In its version
of origin. . The history of El Primero
which had stopped in the years quartz failed according to the legend to be
completed at the end of the Seventies and it would be thanks to a clock and
watch maker of ZENITH, disobeying the orders of the American owners of the time. El Primero could have one second chance when after
ROLEX was interested in El Primero at the end of the Eighties and ensured ZENITH
an order book which justified to start again manufacture of it. If ZENITH in
addition diffused some specimens of its caliber to some re-elected marks, it is
the crowned brand which was the engine of the revival. ROLEX
wished to make
modifications to this caliber of high technology to adapt it to the schedule of
conditions of its model DAYTONA but ZENITH fell under the continuity of
the challenge launched in 1962 and improved its mythical movement by making it
profit from new technologies of production and by continuing some the
developments. which indeed, acquired the mark in its clock making pole in
1999 in particular with dimensions of Tag Heuer is engaged in the daring
industrial bet to start again ZENITH whose growing old image did not emphasize
the quality of the watches of the mark. ZENITH had the knowledge to make clock
making but encountered difficulties of letting it know. It was necessary
moreover to invest in the production equipment if not neglected by the preceding
owners at least insufficiently developed since a generation in front of an
increasingly hard competition. Conscious of having acquired a jewel of the clock
industry, LVMH required of Thierry Nataf to take up the double challenge on the
one hand, to vacuum-clean the image of ZENITH and to reposition the brand and on
the other Tourbillions, Open models, power reserve indicator, big date, split
second are the complications which came to transform, supplement and perfect
this movement of exception. The clock and watch makers of ZENITH could not have
anticipated that the brand would be able someday to give a new life to its
caliber El Primero. Imagination is without limits. El Primero is today on the
front of the scene of which it dominates the family of the chronograph calibers.
With its 30 mms in diameter for 6,5 mm of thickness and only 7,55 mm for the
version with triple day of the month with instantaneous jump, this movement with column wheel is one of most powerful on the market. It does not include
less than 354 parts including 227 different in the most complicated version, has
41 screws and 31 rubies, and requires more than 50 points of lubrication. The
caliber requires nine months of work in cumulated time, request for 5 to 50
operations per part, imposes 50 millings of various dimensions on the side of
the bridges. Twenty clock and watch makers are put at contribution for a
movement and not less than 18 metals are employed. The EL Primero remains the
only movement able to measure short times with the tenth of a second. Its "split
second" version is its last great evolution but certainly not the last, and its
history seems to have beautiful days in it. any way you look at it , nothing
fits gently on ones wrist as an old watch.

WORLD
HALLMARKS BY WILLIAM B. WHETSTONE AND ASSOCIATES 2ND EDITION ULTRA IMPORTANT FOR
THE COLLECTOR A MUST!!!!!!!
STOCK NUMBER #BOOK------As a general rule I never give out free advertising
on my pages unless it pertains information second to none for the collector or
pertaining to horological items and this book fits the bill in all ways you
could possible imagine. This is a hard cover book with 380 pages packed with
important information with most world hallmarks form the 1700's to present date,
many many countries are involved and it took five years to complete. I have know
Bill Whetstone since god only knows when lol !. From beginning to end it was
his passion and here it is. If you have a hallmark it is in this book and can
guide you to proper information that you will NOT find anywhere else. The price
is 250.00 USD and well worth it as far as I am concerned and as you see I bought
one from Bill and I can now trace rare late 1700's and 1800's pocket watches by
, the case hallmarks on the inside of the case, i.e., town marks, port of entry
marks, sterling, gold, Assay's office stamps, year of production stamps. .it's
all here in this book and it is once again a must.
please contact me for Bill's info on how to purchase
this very important book,
and if you tell
Bill you saw it on my pages he will personally sign it for you!
As you can see I do not look like your average slumped over watchmaker
rather at 51 years of age I have many many many more years to enjoy my passion
of watch making. Here at Darlor I have a passion for life, family, hockey (since
I was at the age of 8) and a deadly passion for Horological restorations. My
mother would tell you, at Christmas time I would get a Tonka truck and 20
minutes later it was in 100's of pieces all over the living room floor as I had
to know how it works, difference between then and now? Then I would leave it all
scattered all over the floor, now I put it all back together again better than
it was before, my calling at age 8? you bet it was! (my mother still shakes her
head at me lol) nothing turns my crank more than a phone call from a fellow
watchmaker in the U.K, Australia, USA etc, that wants to send a time piece to
me that he gave up on. I still wake up early in the morning to start the days work, and sometimes
not until late at night do I finish. Until the final result is what my client
expects of me and my company it doesn't go any where until it is perfect. I have
been a watchmaker now for over 13 years (full time) and we do specialize in
chain fusee pocket watches, vintage model Rolex, Omega, Patek, Vacheron and I
even love Bulova, Gruen, and complicated early chronographs from Landeron,
Valjoux, Venus even (Gulp) Pierce. I have had the honour to restore pocket
watches dating all the way back to 1700. We work with insurance companies to
settle insurance claims, and we do many, many restoration projects for Museums
from around the globe. Our list of clients range from World Ambassadors, to
world famous actors and actresses, Politicians, CEO's of the automotive world in
Detroit, Noble peace prize winners, cartoonists with world wide publishes under
their belt, world famous author's, Doctor's, Lawyers, Business men and women,
and the list will go on and on. You can see our time pieces in such movies
as the Bone collector with Denzel Washington, Lucky Number Sleven Josh Harnet,
Lucy Lu, the burned out Hamilton watch in the morgue scene was done by us to
make it look like it went through the fire. We supplied watches to the movie
Beyond borders with Clive Owen, Anglia Jolie, and many others that I am
not allowed to publish. I have been privileged to talk to world leaders about
restoring their family heirlooms, and as well, I have had the honour to restore
pieces from local people like you and I , in other words EVERYONE is treated the
same here at Darlor, with NO exceptions, regardless of your profession, race,
color or language... and you have it in hard copy. I restore the chain in a
chain fusee, and repair crown wheels to the point each tooth is perfect for the
next click of the cog in the next wheel. I collet and stud hairsprings when
parts are not available from our 5000 non colleted and non studded hairsprings
from flat to Breguet (we overcoil ourselves if necessary) . Case work is
another specialty of mine. Repairing broken off lugs, buffing cases, removing
deep flaws and scratches. We make stems from scratch and staffs, if needed,
but we also have in stock 40,000 staffs and stems for most brands of wrist
and pocket watches. We have main springs by the thousands and still in perfect
order. When I first started out years and years ago, no one would help me. I
would ask people in the trade where may I get this part? where can I get that
part, and all responded the same "I don't know" and they would turn their back
on me. No one would sell me parts for watch or pocket watches and they all
tried to triple the price on me when they decided to sell me, so to counter
react I went around the United States and Canada for years and looked for parts, not
watches. I bought as many old jewellery and watch shops as I could for the parts
in such places like Iowa, Colorado (love Castle rock) a large purchase in
Nevada, many in Ontario Canada, here at home in Quebec, New Brunswick, Vermont,
Georgia, Lansing Mich, Boston Mass, New Hampshire and so many many places and 100's of thousands of miles all these years
later. If the phone would ring Friday with a good potential buy out, I would run
to the bank, fill the SUV with gas and off to Illinois would I go an hour
later... lol I once made a trip near Chicago Illinois and there was soooo much
material I drove back home, unloaded, slept 5 hours and drove back (11 hours)
for the second load, this is a passion for sure. Now 15 years later I have 1500
sq feet wall to wall documented parts for almost every Swiss, American, German
brand watch and pocket watches you can imagine, funny thing? now all the people
that wouldn't help at the beginning and laughed behind my back now call me for
parts and technical questions they need answers for and no hard feelings have
been harboured by me at all. We (if I may boast) probably have more vintage
Omega parts (1900 to 1960) for Omega watches, all factory and identified
and stored away safely in a nice dry spot. :-) than Omega it 'self!. I met in the late 1980's a
friend of mine Steven Oltuski (deceased) ( owner of Northern Time) from Toronto
(org NYC) and he from the get go helped me and sent me to the right people,
where I could get info, best place to get certified for watchmaking etc, which
still to this day I remain grateful and humble to this person. To work on ones
family heirloom one must have patience and sometimes just stare at the open
watch movement for an hour and examine by loop or microscope how each and every
wheel and cog turns, examine both stones on the pallat hitting the escapement
wheel, examine the roller jewel swinging between the pins on the pallat, so much
to examine and then after I know the problem (s) I start the piece. Again this
is my life's work and passion . We open many many watches on our web pages so
you know what you are getting We welcome any questions about your time piece or
one you may see on our pages but please we do not give out values other than
what you see on our pages.
