WALTHAM MODEL 1883 2 TONE ULTRA ULTRA RARE 21 JEWEL "SPECIAL" MODEL 250
PRODUCTION 1909
STOCK NUMBER # WALT700--------I had to stare at this Waltham for an hour looking
under a micro scope to be certain to 100% nothing has been altered on the
movement and sure enough this piece is factory correct! The run for this 1883
two tone "special" model were 250 examples for this run of serial numbers...,
17,858,751-17,859,000 and again 250 produced during this run and after 18 years
this is the first one I have found and as the scans show you this piece is
immaculate!. The serial number for this 18 size Waltham open face stem wind and
stem set model is 17,858,939 which is in the run of 250 near the end. There are
21 jewels and they have been inspected and cleaned by pith wood then into our
cleaning system. Please notice the jewels are in gold jewel settings and the
micro regulator bridge is nickel on top of solid gold. The two main plates are
for sure proper and two toned as the scans shows you. This is the "special"
model and this pertains to the 21 jewels and not written on the plate but in the
Waltham factory book that I have and the Shugart guide to watches. The dial is
nearly perfect and original. the case is gold filled and clean made by the
"Fahy's Montauk". The case serial number is 7,404,988. The hands are
Waltham original model 1883 hands and the glass crystal is perfect not a flaw. I
assure you this is the real deal and not an imitation as well I double checked
with my dear friend and the retired master time keeper from C.P.R Canadian
Pacific Railroads here in Montréal P. Kushner and he confirmed this piece
as I needed to be 110% sure this is the real McCoy and it is. Rare is not the
word rather never seen is a better way to described this totally serviced pocket
watch from the American Waltham factories near Boston. A chain and pouch will be
added no extra charge :-)

ELGIN ULTRA RARE, 1904 ST LOUIS WORLD FAIR ST CHARLES ENAMEL DIAL GOLD FILLED AND
SERVICED 1904
STOCK NUMBER # ELG63-------I have for sale a one out of 50 produced original
enamel St Charles Creamery dial Elgin hunter case pocket watches for the 1904 world fair in St Louis Mo. This is
a gold filled hunter case with a nice bird design on both sides and no personal
engravings at all. Across this piece is 43mm and so it is a 10 size by
American standards. They produced 50 of these pieces for the Mayor of St Louis
and other dignitaries and the directors of the board of the St Charles Cream
company. I have never had one and I have seen them over priced at 1200 USD before
and in shoddy condition at best. I offer this ultra scarce museum piece for a
good price and no discounts will be had. This case is signed "Philadelphia watch
case company" and the serial number is 7,100,531. Again this is an original
Elgin factory dial produced for the ST Charles Creamery in St Louis Mo and it is
enamel and original one out of 50 produced and we do not and will never know how
few survived all these years later. This Elgin movement is with 7 jewels and
they have been cleaned and inspected . The serial number for this fully serviced
Elgin hunter model pocket watch is 11,349,507 this tells me it was produced in
1904 which again tells you it is the real McCoy indeed. The glass crystal is
flawless and the chain and a pouch will be included. I can tell you in 18 years
I have never seen one in such clean condition.
Cream would be served at the counter in
little glasses and there would be puzzles given to the children for
entertainment. While a person tasted the cream, one could admire the various
awards and honors received by the St. Charles Cream.
The cream was recommended by nurses and
doctors for children to drink. All that needed to be done to the cream was add
water and it would become fluid milk. This was supposed to safer than ordinary
milk out of the cow because the cream had been sterilized. Sterilization killed
tuberculosis and many other diseases. The cream provided an alternative to
ordinary milk for children who would get upset stomachs caused by the milk. The
St. Charles Cream has been used for many years at the Chicago Foundlings’ Home
and has had great results from it
For cooking, the cream is said to
preferable because it is pure unlike ordinary milk or cream. The cream was nice
for custards, puddings, soups, ice cream, and confectionary. Obviously, the
cream had an everyday use in tea, coffee, cocoa, and toppings for fruits. The
cream was unsweetened and replaced fresh milk or cream for drinking and
cooking. The cream was a convenience to many, because it was in a can be stored
in the pantry and did not have to wait on the milk man to begin your cooking.
The St. Charles Cream was prepared from
milk produced by selected cows, which were scientifically fed on outstanding
farms. The farms were located from St. Charles, Illinois to Ingersoll,
Ontario. The farms were under direct supervision from the company’s inspectors
and much care would be taken at every step. The milk would be reduced to the
consistency of cream by evaporation, and then it would be canned and preserved
by a process of sterilization.

In a corner booth at the Agriculture

the bible which brought trouble and discord. The white-and-gold booth was
decorated with pyramids of cream cans and many tiny statues of the golden cow.
