18 KARAT DEMI HUNTER WELL MAINTAINED AND SERVICIED SIGNED KENT & WHITE & HUTTON BILLITER ST (LANE) 1927

STOCK NUMBER # CK440------I have an outstanding important piece for sale as it is an 18 karat enamel front cover demi hunter with enamel Roman numerals. This case across is 50mm and it is a stem wind and a pin set piece to the side of this crown. Push the crown down and the double spade hand will appear when the lid flips open to a perfect 90% angle and this is why it is called a demi hunter. This case is signed R&S and well hallmarked indeed. The serial number for this 18 karat gold demi hunter movement case is 315 (very early serial number). The movement is spotless and just cleaned, oiled and timed to perfection. The year of production for this Kelvin, white & Hutton pocket watch is 1927 and runs like day one truly! This piece was produced at their Billitner st shop and it is truly remarkable how well this piece was treaded almost 90 years later. There are over 50 grams of solid 18k gold so this is a sturdy case and not flimsy as the content is there. There are 15 jewels to this beauty and all have been cleaned and inspected. I will also tell you a rare feature is the escapement wheel are semi Wolf teeth not easily to be found. This is an 18 size pocket watch movement by American standards so it is big and clean as as whistle as all the scans shows you. One wind of the crown and it takes off in a perfect motion ;-)

The King's gold Medal . It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society. The medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements. Billiter Lane (now road) ran north-west from Fenchurch to Leadenhall, entirely in Aldgrate ward. Nearby landmarks includedBlanch Appleton facing the opening of Billiter Lane on the south side of Fenchurch and Ironmongers’ Hall to the west of Billiter Lane on the north side ofFenchurch. Nearby churches were St. Catherine Cree on leadenhall and All Hallows Staining adjacent to the Clothworkers’ Hall and St. Katharine Coleman on Fenchurch. On the “Agas” map, Billiter Lane is labelled “Bylleter la.,” although the name is hard to read because it runs north-west and is therefore nearly upside down from a reader’s perspective. In a 1653 edition of John Norden’s 1593 map, it is number 59, “Billeter lane” in the key (Norden). Prockter and Taylor normalize the spelling to “Billiter Lane” (26), as it was known until the nineteenth century. While the etymology of the street name may hint at the trade of its early residents, by Stow’s time the street was a place of social contrasts. On the west side of Billiter Lane, in the lee of a great house owned by the Clothworkers’ Company, was a row of shops and tenements that were occupied by widows and haunted by beggars. Stow glosses over the current state of the street by digging into the past, but evidence from other sources, including a 1612 ground plan by Ralph Tresswall, suggests that Billiter Lane was a decaying street inhabited by “inconsiderable” people, as Strype was later to call them. Now known as Billiter Street, an alternate name in use by the early nineteenth century , the EC3 street in London’s financial district is shadowed by tower blocks. It runs one-way northbound, accessible only from Fenchurch Avenue (a street that did not exist in Stow’s day). Access from Fenchurch Street is blocked off.

INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO. (I.W.C) 14 KARAT GOLD HUNTER MODEL

STOCK NUMBER # IWC6700------The only flaw on this 14 karat hunter case watch is the enamel dial has been repaired at the 9 position and a good restoration indeed has been done. The case is awesome and in perfect impeccable condition. This case is hallmarked 14 karat and tested for such and indeed it is 14K. The width of this case is 55mm and the length not including the bow is 66mm long. The case serial number is 978 and again the lid "pops" open at a perfect 90 degree angle. There is a personnel engraving on the back of the cuvette and it is too deep to remove as it reads "George Woods May 8 1924". The movement as you can see by the scan is in perfect condition and  I can assure you it was fully serviced with never a short cut ever taken. There are 15 perfect jewels to this movement and pith wood was used into each and every jewel hole to make sure they are perfectly cleaned then this movement went into our cleaning solutions for a good ole fashion cleaning. 18 KARAT SOLID GOLD "BRACE BRIDGE LONDON " CHAIN FUSEE & SERVICED

STOCK NUMBER # BRACKEBRIDGE5555-----If ever you were looking for an important 18 karat solid gold pocket watch with few flaws to tell you about, then I have for you the serious pocket watch enthusiast a rare museum quality 18 karat solid gold chain fusee in super clean condition and runs as it just rolled of the master watchmakers bench!. This case is well hallmarked and the hallmark tells me it was produced in the U. K in the year 1862. I can only say that after all these years, I cleaned this piece for hours and hours  to the point it is running as it was all those years ago. The key is inserted into the slot and tuned. This turns the barrel with the Fusee chain on it to wind it around another pyramid tower with grooves going up and this gives this pocket watch the power it needs to drive the balance to work in a perfect order. The case across is 45mm and without the bow it is 53mm long and as well the knob at the top of the case right below the bow is hallmarked and stamped 18 karat. The thickness of this case with the "Bulls-eye" crystal is 20mm. The dial is original and it is as well 18 K frosted solid gold. The hands are excellent and the bulls eye crystal without a scratch. the movement was produced by "Brace bridge" and signed as such from the city of London. The serial number for this 14 size movement is 1675. I must remind you this piece is 144 years in age and it is in museum quality I kid you not. As all my gold pocket and wrist watches I test each and every piece in 3 spots so please have no doubt at all. Genuine, 18 karat and in excellent order.

18 KARAT SOLID GOLD BAR STYLE POCKET WATCH AND SERVICED

STOCK NUMBER # SWISS5000-7------This is a super clean 1880's pocket watch unsigned and from Switzerland with 8 cleaned Rubies. The case is 18 karat solid gold with an inner cuvette. This case across is 47mm . The dial is enamel and cleaned. Please notice a chip at the 7 position , hard to see but it is there and must be mentioned. The hands are Breguet style and original to this piece. The case does have a serial number and it is 11504 and signed 18 K. The movement is very cleaned and I serviced this piece recently and it ticks up a storm. This is a Swiss made cylinder escapement movement and they were never accurate time keepers but they replaced the bulky chain fusee's and verge escapement so it is slim and elegant in style and can be worn in a pants or vest pocket with ease.  A nice chain and pouch will be added with this piece no charge. To wind this pocket watch you put a key (indeed the key is  included) into the top slot on the back of the case and when you turn the key it winds up the mainspring.
