JOSH DONISTHORPE STERLING CASE IN CASE MUSEUM QUALITY
ASSURED AND FRESHLY SERVICED CIRCA 1830!
STOCK NUMBER # JOSH-SPW-3------I have for sale a museum piece for sure.
This is a perfect case in case with no personal engravings as the scan
shows. This piece was created in Loughborogh within the Charnwood borough of
Leicestershire England. The year this piece was created by Josh Donisthorpe was
1830 and it amazes me all these years later it runs with one turn of the key I
kid you not. This Case has all the correct hallmarks and this is how we
determine the year of production and the country as well. Across this outer case
is 50mm and the inner case is 45mm across. The hinges on both cases are
excellent and open and close properly indeed. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION, I I
have to shake my head as I can't understand how a pocket watch over 179 years
old has a perfect porcelain dial without a flaw, I looked and looked
with a 10 power loop and then a macroscopic and I see only production marks NO
FLAWS at all. This is a chain driven fusee movement and it is just serviced and
all original. I did however change the main spring to be 100 % certain and it is
the proper size and strength as the original piece has been measured for
strength, width and length with our tools to do so. The serial number for this
Josh Donisthorpe cas in case Fusee chain pocket watch is 459. The dial I may
mention is pinned to the movement and again it is perfect. The balance cock is
pierced by hand and with a beautiful engraving. As I write down the description
I assure you it is ticking perfectly not a flaw. These vintage chain watches
never kept good time but they run and run and run, 1830 and still here. Can we
compare today's pieces with the T.L.C pieces from this era of 1830, not a
chance, all these year later and it still goes. The chain and a nice pouch will
be added no charge of coarse.

STERLING SILVER 1859 LONDON HALLMARKED AND WOW!!!!!!
THE CONDITION!
STOCK NUMBER # FUSEE4500-3------ Just at the 150 year old mark and it
runs and looks like new. I have for sale a hallmarked 1859 chain fusee from
London England and it has the all the markings for this information by the case
maker "PK". This is a case in case sterling silver fusee chain driven pocket
watch and it is a big size indeed. The outer case is 60mm in width. The inner
case is 52mm in width. Both cases are hallmarked and belong to each other.
The dial is enamel and excellent with a repair to the 12 area. both hands are
solid gold. The crystal is glass and it is a "bulls eye and it is perfect and I
know this is hard to believe but the crystal has no wear on it anywhere. I
myself have taken apart this movement and inspected each and every link on the
chain. I looked at the crown wheel under my microscope and all teeth are in
perfect condition with no wear. The movement is indeed from London England and
it is unsigned. The serial number for this movement is 43546 and you can hear it
tick loudly and perfectly. Remember that fuse's never kept great time but they
are a marvel considering the fact of no electricity, computers nor easy access
to documents. These cottage fusee pieces were made with passion and by hand
under a big window so the light could shine on the piece as the watchmaker made
each and every piece himself. So here is a prime example that survived 150 years
to be as strong now as it was over 150 years ago and the condition is for sure
"museum" quality. A pouch and a chain are added at no extra charge. On a closing
note the watch is wound by the back and if you put the key over the minute hand
slot you can turn the hands this way.
